July 1st Canada Day!

In celebration of July 1st I wanted to post some of my favorite drawings that remind me of home. These drawings I did using the graph method which doesn't take real talent just a lot of patience. And it is so fun. I hope my family won't mind. I am excited to go home to Canada this month and really looking forward to seeing everyone again. I'm sad I had to miss the July 1st celebrations, we'll try to make it next year.

Puppy Love

This is a little golden retriever puppy that we are thinking of getting. She really is so cute. Okay so the last time we got a puppy was a disaster. We ended up taking her back to the owner after a week because we couldn't handle her. But that was years ago. And it was a little dog, Bichon Frise. Well, golden retrievers are supposed to be one of the easiest dogs to train and one of the best family dogs. Very friendly and gentle. We are excited about it. When we visited the mother I was very impressed at her manners and gentle demeanor. She was also so beautiful. I'm hoping that this will get me off my butt and out the door for walks everyday.

Garage Sale Madness

Since we came from Canada last summer in our 17 ft U-haul we have been trying to collect little odds and ends to fill up our big empty house. When I go garage saling I like to look for steal deals. So this is what I bought today all for 35 bucks total:

-a bunch of toys, wooden table for scrapbooking, 3 lawn chairs, books, board games, backpacks, two camping mattresses, Dora tent, jewelery box, new purse and a couple stuffed animals (kid's choice of course.) What do I get out of this, maybe just more junk, I don't know. But it was fun anyhow.

Sierra loves this bouncy ball thingy.

I KNOW I will use these lawn chairs!

$5.00 table for scrapbooking and drawing. It will look great in the hobby room of our new house!

And what do you think the kids played with more than anything....My CARDBOARD BOXES that I have for moving to our new house!

Next time I do a garage sale:

For sale:

The best toy ever- filled with hours of fun, never get tired of it, comes in all shapes and sizes, wins over any toy you'll ever buy! The one and only "cardboard box- priceless!~"
For those who are wondering:
We have finalized the deal on a house in mission valley. 3200 sq ft, 4 years old and 127,000! Can't wait to move in August 15th!

Uncle Jon

I had many pictures left of our time with Uncle Jon, so I decided to post them cause it was such a fun week. We saw the temple just an hour before he had to fly home.
Disney again....

Disney again...

For the lucky gal who ends up with Dan's little bro: he is really great with kids!

HE READS TO THEM!!

Maysa cried when he left at the airport, it was too cute. We'll miss you Uncle Jon, hopefully you will come back soon. Maybe to attend Westwind school of Aeronautics and find that super lucky, super cutie Arizona wife.

DISNEYLAND!!

We went to Disneyland for 2 days this week and just had so much fun. We managed to go on all the rides and still have time for a couple shows and parades and fireworks. One thing that was crazy was the CROWDS!! They were awful, next time we will go in the winter. We never had to wait in line more than 40 minutes though. We were smart and used fast passes for everything that we could.

If you ask my children what they loved most about disneyland they will tell you hands down, "meet the princesses." Goodness gracious, we stood in line for 40 mintues to meet these 3 and I was wondering what all the fuss was, when we finally got in there I understood. Each family gets a personal meeting with 3 different princesses and you don't know who they are going to be until you get there. It was so so cute. Maysa just loved holding Belles' pretty fingers, she wouldn't let go of them. Sierra wished she had worn her princess dress and Elena told me afterwards that "maybe Princesses are for 5 year olds." But she still liked it. The princesses would ask them questions and my kids would just stare at them, I wish my kids weren't so shy. One princess asked Maysa what her name was and Maysa just looked up at her and said "I na know". Kinda funny.

The scantily dressed Jasmine.....

When I first saw Ariel I said "oh, Snow white". And Dan says- thats the Little Mermaid!" What was I thinking??? Jonathon got a picture with Ariel too. I think he has a secret crush.

We stood in line 30 minutes to go on flying Dumbo. I didn't know till halfway thru that you could make Dumbo go up or down with your controller. I have a picture just like this when I was 10 with my sister on this same ride.

Maysa is full of expressions, she was so cute on all the rides. She would either have a happy face or a scary face. I was suprised at how many rides they let us take her on. She even got to go on the matterhorn!

I have to say how lucky we were to have Dan's little brother Jonathon with us at Disneyland. He was so helpful and the kids just love him to death. He was always running and getting fast passes for us and helping with the kids. We were lucky because we had 3 adults to 3 kids. One time I left my diaper bag clear across the park and Jon ran the whole way around the park to get it for me and then caught up with the train that we were on. He's the best, I wish we could take him with us everywhere we go!

I had to add in these pictures of the buzz lightyear ride because it was so fun and even Maysa racked up a bunch of points. I kept thinking of how much my little nephew Owen would have gone nuts over this.

I love this picture of Maysa watching the parade, it was so well done and so much fun.

Jungle River Cruise.....

The jungle river cruise was one of my favorite rides. I laughed so hard at the tour guides jokes, but no one else did... SIerra had a scared face on for most of the ride because everything at disney gets a little scary in the middle....

We were so lucky to have brought our chariot stroller so Elena and Sierra could rest and ride and Maysa went on Dan's shoulders. This is our last day and Sierra was just totally tuckered out.

Up, up and away. This is my favorite ride always. Shoot me up 1000 feet and then drop me back down. I LOVE IT! There's me and Jon getting reading to be blasted. I was selfish and did this one 3 times!

We didn't really take a whole lot of pictures because we were having too much fun and running around to all the different rides. If you ask me what my favorite ride was at Disneyland I would have to say Splash mountain, oh and the haunted mansion and pirates of the carribean was also super fun. My favorite ride at Adventure park was probably "soarin over California", that was awesome!!! Well I wish we were still there, it was so charming and so fun. Did I mention it was fun....
We were also very sad that Grandma Brinton could not come with us even though she was planning too. She had to go home for emergency surgery the night before. But she didn't end up getting the surgery because her problem was much better once she got home. :( We miss you Grandma, come back very soon! :( :(

California Waves!

After two days at Disney we ended up at Huntington Beach. Miles of beautiful sand with no one on it but 1 lady suntanning, an older gentleman doing tai chi and us! Although after lunch, it did start to get busier. The water was definetly too cold for me but I enjoyed watching Dan and Jon boogie board the waves and the kids making sand castles. Sierra had a collection of beautiful shells, we stayed for two hours and then headed home on the busy freeways so Dan could go to work at 2am the next morning. We got home at midnight so he only got about 2 hours of sleep :(
but we had a very successful journey and Dan slept all afternoon when he came home from work.
