For the past 2 weeks Maysa has been trying desperately to get a hold of a pair of scizzors so she can chop her hair off. We have been trimming bangs alot lately and I think thats where she got the idea. So we have had to hide every pair of scizzors in high and unreachable places. The other morning I trimmed Elena's bangs before school and then we had to run out the door because we were going to be late. So I put the scizzors in the bathroom mirror and forgot about them. A couple days later......
I was scrubbing toilets upstairs when Maysa left me for a few minutes. I thought she just went downstairs to keep watching Caillou. Well I went to check on her after I was done and found her standing in the bathroom sink with all of her bangs chopped right off . She was going strong until I frantically grabbed the scizzors from her. She looked at me and said "I cut my hair Mom". I felt like laughing, crying and getting mad all at the same time. So I just said- now you look like a boy Maysa! She seemed to like that. That was kind of mean .
It has always been a tortuously painful lesson for me to remember that Maysa should NEVER be left alone. In the past few months she has accomplished oh so much- (I never take pictures, I should start)
-permanent lipstick on the carpet and all over her face and hair- 1/2 hr before church
-black mascara all over the carpets and walls of my master bedroom
-every single last glass in our house she has purposely thrown on the floor because she loves to watch it smash on the tile
-soap, shampoo, lotion, toothpaste, you name it, she loves to smear it all over the wall, her hair and body and it often ends up in her eyes. Diaper cream is one of her personal favorites
-she loves dumping anything in a box all over the floor; cheerios, chocolate milk mix, flour, sugar, the salt shakers are definetly the funnest.
- well the list could go on forever but I suppose this could be typical 2 yr old behavior, so curious and vying for attention in our crazy busy body family.

oh no!!! i don't know how i will handle that when the day comes, and i fully expect it to. my mom said that i would cut my hair at least every 6 months!
the city has a mommy tumbling class that starts in 3 weeks for 2-4yr olds, i'm going to do it with Ezra you should look into it. its only once a week for an hour, but with him being such a busy body i think he wll benifit. :)
oh my gosh! i am so sorry! cameron cut natalee's hair once and it really devastated me but we were able to turn it into a darling bob. her hair looks pretty .....chopped (sorry for saying) but it will grow! she is still so cute and know you get to play around with headbands now!
Oh my goodness, I feel like I'm reading Audrey's future. She is the EXACT same way, but not as full blown yet. She's into the markers right now and almost every wall in our house she has left her mark, just this week she has dumped a box of cereal, and has broken a glass plate and bowl. It's only Wed... It must have something to do with the Feb 1st birthday!
Kayla cut her hair this week too (see blog.) Maysa sounds a lot like Kayla. I think it's the third child syndrome.
Wow! You weren't kidding when you said she cut her bangs off! She's a busy one! And, the stories you'll be able to tell to embarrass her when she's older! :)
Silly Maysa, if she had a little sibling to occupy her these things wouldn't happen:) LOL!!! Just kidding!
