What can I say, they're fat and happy, so long as they are sleeping or have a bottle stuffed in their mouth. They did sleep very well on the vacation, but were fussy in the evenings as usual.
The Oak Canyon mountain park was absolutely beautiful. We went for a short hike here at this orchard, but it had some mosquitoes, not very many. When Maysa went through a swarm of them, she freaked out and ran and grabbed Dan's legs and screamed- (DADDY WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS!) My kids need to get out in the wilderness more....

Ok, this is a little cheesy... or maybe alot, but since the twins were born, the girls have been trying and wanting to dress alike. I think its cute, maybe cheesy, but one more year and Elena will outright refuse to do something like that, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts! They were having so much fun hanging off this tree.
This park had warning signs of wildlife including cougars all over... Good thing we steered clear of these ones.... :)
So one day Dan insisted we go hiking to Big Falls. I was all up for seeing a waterfall. We got there and supposedly the falls were just a very short hike from the parking lot... We were all wearing flipflops. We started on the hike and after 3 miles of trudging and tripping through rocks and dirt and debri and not seeing a soul along the way, I started to question where the heck we were. Then after crossing the river we got to a point where the mountain went straight up. Well Dan is leading and he starts hiking on up. I was thinking to heck with this. So I saw a group way across the river on the other side and I started yelling at them.. "hey, do you guys know where the waterfall is?" They just stood there looking at me like I was an idiot and then kept walking. Dan is so embarrassed by me and he kept hiking straight up that mountain that had a sign that clearly said " Do not go past this point without a permit". Okay, I'm done at this point. Thankfully a guy comes trotting down the trail and he tells us the waterfall is back at the parking lot. Just a bit south and you're there. Too bad we went north.... way up to the north pole. Oh well, so we turned around and eventually made it to the waterfall. By that time Jasper is screaming in Dan's backpack and I was still carrying Jayden in the moby wrap, but totally exhausted. The girls were hungry and whining. We did end up having a nice little picnic in the trees and at least i got one good picture of the waterfall with Sierra in front. The waterfall I didn't enjoy at all...
The next ten pictures were taken at the resort we stayed at.
These next few pictures were taken inside the aerial tram at Palm springs. This was the funnest day. The tram is one of the biggest in the world, there is only 2 others that compare to it in Switzerland and South Africa. It was fun to go straight up to the top and spend the day in the cool mountain air. There were alot of fun trails and picnic spots at the top, where it was 40 degrees cooler!! That is like heaven to someone who lives in southern Arizona.
I know this is the biggest tree trunk I've ever seen, the girls thought it was so neat.
Maysa is giving me a magic show with these rocks and twigs she gathered. When we were on one of the trails, Maysa yelled really loudly to Elena... "Elena!, remember on Yogi bear when he said I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I DO NOT CARE!!", she was laughing, Dan started laughing, I almost died of embarrassment. Funny how she remembers things, even if she remembers them a little wrong.. :)
These next few pictures were taken at the resort. We always go night swimming with the girls cause it is so much funner. They absolutley love it. Just as of 2 weeks ago, Maysa can now swim on her very own. She jumps into the deep end and can swim unassisted with no lifejacket or water wings for the entire length of the pool. It scares me to death but she was bound and determined to do it just like her big sisters.
Dan was on double baby duty while I took pictures, he enjoys holding both of them. Jayden left. Jasper right.

I took some pictures of the cabin. It was quite small for us, seeing as we have a million kids now. But we did okay. We actually had to borrow a trailer from our friend George to haul all our gear. I'm a bit of a high maintenance gal, we needed the swings, bouncy seats, playpen... you name it, we got it.
The kids loft was adorable, the kids loved it. We sent them up there alot.
We had to stop at these dinosaur exhibits at Palm Springs on the way back. I couldn't believe how massive they were. Dan bought the girls stuffed dinosaurs and they played with them the whole drive home. Daddy loves to spoil his girls :)
The babies did really well on their first vacation, they pretty well slept the whole 6 hour drive. Here is Jasper in the car seat waiting to get going...

It was a fun trip, we would definetly go there again, so many mountains and beautiful scenery. We won't mention that we also ate about ten pounds of cherries and maybe 2 buckets of ice cream.. Its vacation! Now we're back home, getting ready for Dan to go back to work and kids to go back to school.
