Funny Random Summer Pictures

These pictures just didn't seem to fit in any group or subject... Just us, being nerdy

Elena being such a fun big sister as usual..

Jasper and his hat.

Jayden in the desert with his hat.... my kids are obssessed with "photochop" app, they think its sooooo funny.

Jayden loved this life size dog at Grandma's house.

Maysa kissing the fake dog....

Jayden wearing my fashion glasses... I know I did not put those on him.!

We stayed in alot of hotels during our trip, and always enjoyed the pool...

Maysa laughed and laughed when she saw this, cause she thought she looked like Santa Claus..

Forgot to mention that Maysa lost her very first tooth before we left on the big trip. The tooth fairy forgot a couple nights, that rotten tooth fairy....

Maysa and Sierra sent this picture to me on email, I about died laughing when I saw it, what little turkeys I have.

I guess when you are bored enough in Arizona, you put the kids on a winter sled and take them for a ride on the hot road. What else would we use it for :)

Dan bridge jumping by my parents farm on Canada day....

With my super crazy bro in law Rob. Yes, Rob is in his ginchies. Too bad I have to end on this note! Happy thoughts :)

McBride Family Reunion

About 4 days after we returned from our journey to Canada and Colorado, we packed up again and headed out to the BIG McBride reunion in Pima Arizona Graham mountains. Even though I felt like vegging and sleeping for a week, away we went....

I knew exactly 1 person out of this whole group when we first arrived.  A few hours later, we met all my distant cousins, aunts and uncles, a very sweet and nice group of people.  We all have the exact same Great Grandma Zela and Great Grandpa Clyde.  Also, a bit of history here- Clyde's father was Peter Howard McBride, who happened to be one of the pioneers who crossed the plains with the Willie Handcart COmpany when he was just six years old.  His story is a legacy and I have a very soft spot in my heart for the pioneers because of him and his courageous family.

Here are some of the cousin "kids" sitting in a potato trench that great great great Grandpa Peter dug at the top of the mountain way back in the 1800s.

Telling funny stories about Great Grandpa Clyde and his Father Peter.

A natural teatter totter someone made, my kids played on this the whole time.

Maria is the one person I knew at the reunion, our moms are first cousins. We first met when we were 9 years old. I lived in Canada, she lived in Utah. But we managed to stay in contact all these years. We wrote letters to eachother at least once a month for years and years. She is very dear to me. Here she is with her baby Weston.

At the very top of the Graham mountain range is a plaque honoring my great great Grandpa Peter.

.
This is what the plaque says.

My mother's cousin Janie gave us a tour of Pima and Thatcher pointing out all the places my ancestors settled and worked. It was very interesting and I learned alot. Here we are standing at the childhood home of Spencer W. Kimball, his father Andrew baptized my great great Grandpa's family in England before they headed to "Zion".

I don't know hardly a thing about my Grandpa Clyde's involvement in WW2. But I know he went overseas with the army and fought in the war and came out alright. Here is a plaque honoring him. I love what it reads.

Here is Clyde W's name and a couple under it, you will see Floyd Warren's name who happens to be his twin brother. All McBrides listed here are related.

Here is Peter McBrides gravesite with his first wife Ruth.

And.... his other wife Laura Lewis (who I descend from), right beside them. Polygamy has deep roots in McBride family. Apparently it still exists today among some of the McBrides... so I noticed..

Here are the 9 gravesites of all the children lost to my great great Grandma's. They had 22 all together. It was hard to read the dates on all of them, children's gravesites always look awful to me

On a happier note:
Dan and Jasper doing what they do best.. having fun.

Visiting Grandma McBride

On our way back from Canada we stopped in Colorado to see Grandma McBride. She was so happy to have us and cooked for us and we were so grateful to her.

We went for lots of walks at Grandma's farm because the weather was nice and cool

Maysa just loooooved the miniature goats. She named them Teeko and Peeko.

Until one of them started to eat her skirt....

Uncle Bob is Grandma's brother, he has been living with her for the past 13 or 14 years. He is a fun person, he sure liked to observe the kids playing.

This is my Grandpa McBrides gravesite, you can't really see the writings because of the recent down pour.

Jasper and Grandma, she sure loved the twins. We will miss Grandma McBride, maybe I can convince her to come spend time with us in Arizona next winter....

Random fun pictures of our Canadian travels

Our Canada trip was sooo fun, but I was soooo ready to go home by the end. We went to calaway park with Brinton cousins, visited Grandma Rosy and Grandpa Darrel in Glenwood, henderson park, movie day..... it was exhausting, but a good time and good memories.

Sierra and Paris riding the eggs at calaway park, Sierra went on the roller coaster 4 times!

Icecream in Glenwood with bonus Grandparents. They are so kind and dear to us.

A windy windy day at Henderson park, but the kids certainly didn't notice or care

Another picture at calaway park, the girls and their cousins waited about an hour to go on the log ride. They sure loved it!

How my dad's cat Muffy likes to sleep. It makes me chuckle every time..

How my sister and her baby like to sleep.... it also makes me chuckle. So cute.

Aaaaand, playing on the swing set at Grandma Lene's, a classic as always...

Even though its difficult for me, we always visit my mother's gravesite every summer.
